GCash Takes Center Stage as MinBizCon Returns Home to Cagayan de Oro

Fintech leader GCash is set to power the digital transformation of Mindanao’s business sector as the 35th Mindanao Business Conference (MinBizCon) kicks off at The Atrium, Limketkai Center, running from August 11 to 13.

Hosted by the Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Inc. (Oro Chamber) and organized by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), the region’s largest business gathering spotlights Northern Mindanao’s trillion-peso economy.

Accelerating Regional Growth Through Digital Innovation

As an official event sponsor, GCash is playing a key role in driving this year’s theme, “Accelerating Inclusive Growth for Business Through Innovation and Sustainability: Bridging the Gap, Scaling the Future.”

To help local enterprises modernize their operations, GCash is featuring a dedicated session focused on GCash for Business solutions. The session offers direct onboarding for enterprise leaders and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), equipping them with financial technology tools to streamline payment systems, expand customer reach, and accelerate the region’s broader digital transition.

A Platform for Sustainable Economic Expansion

Running daily from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, the three-day summit brings together key stakeholders from across the island, co-hosted by the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDa). In addition to exploring fintech integration, participants are collaborating on public-private policy resolutions to be integrated into the PCCI national agenda and presented directly to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at the Philippine Business Conference in October.

The historical homecoming, marking the sixth time CDO has hosted the conference since initiating the event in 1992, is heavily supported by local government units across Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Bukidnon, Lanao del Norte, Camiguin, and Iligan City, along with major national agencies including the DTI, DOST, DOT, DA, and the Board of Investments. Through partnerships with industry innovators like GCash, MinBizCon continues to bridge digital gaps and scale the future of Mindanao’s economy.
