Grammy-Winning US R&B Star Unveils New Single “Fly” from Highly Anticipated Album ‘The Edge’

Jersey-Born Multi-Instrumentalist Channels Michael Jackson, Prince & Bruno Mars on Genre-Bending New Era

Out 12th December 2025

LOS ANGELES / MANILA / TOKYO / JAKARTA – Grammy-winning US R&B singer, songwriter, and producer Tone Stith announces his new single “Fly”, out 12th December 2025, the second track from his highly anticipated album ‘The Edge’. With over 260 million worldwide streams and a rapidly growing Asian fanbase—including 20K monthly listeners in the Philippines, 12.8K in Japan, and 6.8K in Indonesia—Stith is positioning himself as a major force in contemporary R&B across the region.

The Jersey-born multi-instrumentalist (drums, guitar, piano) wrote for Chris Brown’s 11:11 (Deluxe), which won the Best R&B Album award at the 2025 Grammy Awards. Previously nominated for Best New Artist at the 2021 Soul Train Music Awards, Stith has collaborated with Chris Brown, Victoria Monét, H.E.R., 2 Chainz, Ty Dolla Sign, Quavo, and Bryson Tiller, whilst his single “Girls Like You” peaked at #6 on the Billboard R&B charts.

‘The Edge’ represents a bold evolution for Stith, who channels the genre-defying spirits of Michael Jackson, Prince, and Bruno Mars—artists who have placed stretchmarks on the limits of genre. Co-produced with KP & Brody Brown, the album captures what Stith calls “the common denominator of the energy and feel of good music.”

“On this project, it was a collaborative effort and that’s why it has a special sound to it,” Stith explains. “This album reflects my upbringing. Funk music, Soul music, and elements of pop. The songs I was doing before were traditional R&B. R&B encompasses a wide spectrum. I want [this album] to feel more edgy.”

Throughout the project, Stith crafts his music with intention. As a songwriter, he constructs lyrics with meaningful messages whilst experimenting sonically to make each track as expressive as the words themselves. “Fly” showcases this philosophy—blending funk-infused grooves with contemporary R&B sensibilities that resonate across cultures.

The Edge is the threshold for the type of music Stith has reverberating inside of him. Following the album’s title track, “Fly”continues to push boundaries, refusing to be confined by traditional R&B conventions whilst maintaining the soulful authenticity that has earned Stith Grammy recognition.

Stith is credited with co-writing and co-producing songs such as “Make Love” and “Liquor” for Chris Brown’s Royalty album, which garnered him Grammy recognition. He toured with H.E.R. in 2018 for the “I Used To Know Her” tour, establishing himself as a formidable live performer alongside his studio prowess.

With a growing Asian streaming presence spanning the Philippines (20K monthly listeners), Japan (12.8K), Indonesia (6.8K), Taiwan (6.6K), South Korea (5.7K), Thailand (4.9K), Malaysia (3.5K), Singapore (2.7K), and Vietnam (1.4K), Tone Stith is poised to make ‘The Edge’ his breakthrough moment in the region.
