Price of gasoline to rise, diesel, kerosene to decline
THE cost of gasoline went up by 40 centavos per liter on Tuesday, but the prices of diesel and kerosene dropped. Oil companies lowered the prices of diesel by 50 centavos and kerosene by 75 centavos. It is the third straight week that gasoline prices have risen and the second consecutive week that diesel prices have been rolled back. The Department of Energy's Oil Industry Management Bureau and other industry sources attributed this week's price movements to international developments, including the continuing fighting in the Middle East between Israel and Hezbollah; OPEC and its associates delaying output hikes; bearish oil demand outlook for 2025 especially from China; and the strengthening of US dollar. Since January, the price of gasoline has gone up by P11.75 and diesel by P9.05. The price of kerosene has dropped by P2.65.
