ABS-CBN Bags 17 Awards at the 6th Alta Media Icon Awards

ABS-CBN received 17 accolades at the 6th ALTA Media Icon Awards, including two Hall of Fame honors and major wins across television, film, and music.

“It’s Showtime” entered the Hall of Fame for its five consecutive wins as Best Noontime Variety Show. Its hosts, Anne Curtis-Smith and Kulot Kaponpon, were also recognized as Most Influential Female TV Personality and Best Child Performer for TV. 

Joining the Hall of Fame is seasoned host Luis Manzano, who was named Best Game Show Host for “Rainbow Rumble.” 

The blockbuster movie “Hello, Love, Again” continues to receive recognition, winning Movie of the Year, with Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards also awarded Best Actress and Best Actor for Film, respectively.

The popular action-drama series “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” was awarded Best Primetime Drama Series, while Primetime King Coco Martin was also named Most Influential Male TV Personality.

Jodi Sta. Maria, meanwhile, earned the Best Actress for TV award for “Lavender Fields,” while “Magandang Buhay” took home the Best Celebrity Talk Show honor.

DonBelle, the pairing of Belle Mariano and Donny Pangilinan, was hailed Best Love Team for their undeniable chemistry, while Robi Domingo won Best Talent Competition Host for “The Voice Teens (Season 3).” 

In the music scene, the nation’s girl group BINI nabbed the Best P-pop Group award, while Maki was honored as Best Male Recording Artist.

In news and current affairs, veteran broadcast journalist Kabayan Noli de Castro was recognized as Best Male News Personality for “TV Patrol,” while Bernadette Sembrano received the Best Magazine Show Host award for “Tao Po.”

ALTA Media Icon Awards, organized by the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA – Department of Communication, recognizes excellence in the media industry and celebrates significant contributions of professionals and organizations to nation-building and youth development.
