Manila’s alt-rock torchbearers set for long-awaited live show on August 31, 2025, at Timbre+ One North
Filipino rock staples Sponge Cola are making their long-overdue return to Singapore this August 31, 2025, marking their first live show in the city-state since 2017. Presented by production outfit Requiem Rising and with Como Hotels Singapore as official partner, the one-night-only performance at Timbre+ One North is poised to reunite the band with their loyal Pinoy fanbase abroad—while setting the stage for a wider sonic reach across Southeast Asia.
Sponge Cola has built a career on emotionally charged songwriting and genre-fluid experimentation, captivating listeners across generations. With this comeback performance, the band hopes to do more than reconnect with fans in the Lion City—it’s an invitation to bring their distinct sound to new ears and fresh borders.
“This show is a homecoming of sorts,” shares frontman Yael Yuzon, “Singapore is one of the band’s favorite vacation spots. Always nice to celebrate that with a show. We’re excited to hang out with our fellow Filipinos in Singapore–performing in these shows abroad is like playing for family.”
As Sponge Cola continues to evolve two decades into their career, their Singapore show demonstrates that their music indeed helps spread that OPM flavor internationally.
