THE Philippine Air Force (PAF) and the Hawaii Army National Guard (HING) joined forces to enhance aircraft maintenance capabilities.
PAF spokesman Col. Ma. Consuelo Castillo on Thursday said the Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE) on aircraft maintenance was held from September 16 to 20 at Brigadier General Benito Ebuen Air Base in Mactan, Cebu.
Castillo said 35 PAF personnel from the 205th Tactical Helicopter Wing engaged with 13 personnel from the HING in various discussions and practical demonstrations on aircraft maintenance procedures.
"Topics covered included general maintenance practices, component inspection, and the use of specialized tools and equipment necessary for efficient aircraft servicing and upkeep," she said.
Brig. Gen. Alvin Hate, Wing Commander of the 205th Tactical Helicopter Wing, attended the event.
The exchange centered on the operational capabilities of the PAF's Black Hawk helicopters.
"These efforts aim to improve the PAF's interoperability and maximize the capabilities of its S-70i Black Hawk aircraft, to support various operations of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP)," Castillo said.
