Marcos calls support for Filipino movies
PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday urged Filipinos to support the local film industry by watching movies being showcased at the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). "The stories of our race again take centerstage through the special celebration of the 50th year of the Metro Manila Film Festival, a yearly tradition that has been part of our life and culture as Filipinos," Marcos said in Filipino in a video message released by Malacañang. "The film entries for the Golden Year of the MMFF surely will give happiness and leave behind lessons. Bring your whole family and friends and watch all 10 movies presented in the MMFF," he added. The official entries in this year's MMFF were "Isang Himala," "Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital," "Green Bones," "Espantaho," "Hold Me Close," And the Breadwinner is....," "The Kingdom," "My Future You," "Uninvited," and "Topakk." The yearly festival will run from Dec. 25 until Jan. 7, 2025.
