Atayde seeking 2nd term as QC representative
(UPDATE) QUEZON City 1st District Rep. Arjo Atayde filed his certificate of candidacy (CoC) to seek a second term on Tuesday at the Amoranto Stadium in Quezon City. Atayde, running under the Nacionalista Party, is the official candidate of "Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas" for the district. He was joined by Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, Vice Mayor Gian Sotto and Quezon City 5th district Rep. Patrick Michael Vargas, as well as city council candidates Gab Atayde, Dorothy Delarmente, TJ Calalay, Bernard Herrera, Joseph Juico and Charm Ferrer. All filed their certificates of candidacy for next year's midterm polls. Atayde said he hoped to end the flooding problem in the city. "We want to follow through on the anti-flooding projects that we have in the pipeline, as well as continue crafting and passing legislation that will benefit the families and residents of our district," he said. "District 1 is most affected by flooding. Moving forward, we will pursue that project, and definitely, as years go by, it is for us to prove that our promises were meant to be fulfilled," Atayde added. He vowed for more legislation that would benefit the entertainment industry, such as the Eddie Garcia Act, whose implementing rules and regulations were signed on Monday.
