Sara highlights mothers' role in forming strong nation

VICE President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte paid tribute to mothers on Sunday, saying their role in forming a strong nation was immeasurable."We take this moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for the selfless sacrifices they make every day to nurture and care for their families. Their love and guidance pave the way for brighter futures and stronger communities," Duterte said in her message on Mother's Day.She then said in Filipino: "To all mothers who strive to improve the situation of their families — inside or outside the country, in your own homes or in your respective professions — your very important role in forming a strong nation that will guide us toward a more prosperous future cannot be measured.""I am one with you in the prayer that our heartfelt efforts for the good of our children, our communities and [our] country will bear fruit," she said.House Speaker Martin Romualdez also paid tribute to mothers."I extend my warmest greetings to all the mothers across the country and a special shout-out to my beloved wife, Rep. Yedda Romualdez," Romualdez said."Mothers are the foundation of every Filipino family, their love and strength guiding us from our earliest days into adulthood. They offer wisdom in quiet moments and resilience when faced with challenges, profoundly shaping both our lives and our communities," he said.The House leader said each mother "plays a unique and pivotal role" and that "their impact resonates deeply within our society.""To every Filipino mother who gracefully manages the demands of life while ensuring our homes are filled with warmth, your efforts are the backbone of our families. Your presence is a constant source of comfort and an endless source of inspiration," he said.Romualdez thanked his mother, Juliette, "for making us, her children and her grandchildren the center of her universe."
