'PCSO Chorale making a comeback'
THE Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) announced on Tuesday the return of its famed choir as part of the agency's 90th anniversary celebration. In a statement, the agency said its PCSO Chorale will be re-launched during their special concert, "Celebrating Our Milestones," which will be held on Friday at the GSIS Theater in Pasay City. The choir will be accompanied by a 16-piece string ensemble. Part 1 will showcase songs that anchored on the PCSO's key milestones over the past 90 years, while part 2 consists of a "repertoire that reflects the core values of the PCSO and the principles associated with the 'Bagong Pilipinas' initiative of the Marcos administration." Singer Imelda Papin, a member of the PCSO Board of Directors, will grace the event and will sing several numbers during the concert. "The chorale has enhanced the PCSO's profile through musical excellence in various agency and state events, as well as in local competitions," the agency said. The PCSO Chorale achieved several accolades in the past, including finishing in the runner-up position at a competition involving government-owned and -controlled companies in 2000 and also winning the National Apostleship of Prayer Christmas Carol Competition in the same year.
