Malabon Covid frontliners to get allowance soon

MALABON City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval said on Wednesday that the health emergency allowance (HEA) for the city's 1,553 frontliners during the Covid-19 pandemic would be released soon. "The city health department headed by Officer in Charge Bernadette Bordador has already submitted all the needed documents, and we expect to sign the memorandum of agreement with the Department of Health (DoH) soon," she said. "I reassure our health workers and other frontliners who provided aid in the city's health and emergency response operations during the pandemic that the local government will continue coordinating with DoH for them to receive their emergency allowance," Sandoval added. City Administrator Alexander Rosete said the allowance was mandated by Republic Act 11712. It will be based on the number of hours a frontliner reported to duty. "The Sandoval administration has been grateful to our over a thousand frontliners who risked their lives just to save others during the Covid-19 pandemic. That's why we continue our coordination with the DoH to make sure that the HEA for our own frontliners and health workers would be eventually released and received by them," Rosete said.
