Joshua Pacio of Lions Nation MMA is sharpening his boxing and improving his wrestling in preparation for his rematch with ONE strawweight world champion Jarred Brooks at ONE 166 on March 1 in Qatar.
The pair first met inside the cage at ONE 164 in Manila where the brash American defeated Pacio in front of his hometown crowd by way of unanimous decision. More than a year later, they are set to trade blows again for the gold-plated strap.
“Next week will be my last week of hard training. I am 93% ready and after next week I shall be a hundred percent ready to go,” Pacio said.
Criticized by some in his last performance for his lack of aggression, the 28-year-old from Baguio City says fans can expect a more dynamic approach in his much-anticipated rematch with Brooks.
“Of course [I will be aggressive] but not totally aggressive. It is going to be [smart aggression],” Pacio quipped.
