MANILA, Philippines — Aboitiz Construction, the construction arm of the Aboitiz Group, has commenced construction of a 72.2-hectare land development within the Aboitiz-led LIMA Estate in Batangas.

Targeted for completion in 2025, the project scope includes earthworks, site development, road network, perimeter fence, drainage, waterline, and sewer line works.

The project has employed 219 skilled workers during its peak season.

“This highlights Aboitiz Construction’s commitment to creating employment opportunities and fostering expertise within the local community,” the company said.

Once completed, the new project  will accommodate new businesses in the area and generate thousands of job opportunities for local communities.

Aboitiz Construction has utilized Trimble, a GPS-based solution, which would make construction equipment more efficient as it significantly reduces the need for traditional surveys.

Aboitiz COO Ramez Sidhom said the construction arm supports LIMA toward its expansion efforts.

“Through our expertise and cutting-edge technology, we are set to support LIMA towards its expansion efforts in the said economic zone. As we pursue various projects, we are also fulfilling our purpose of building for business to prosper and communities to thrive. Through the jobs that we create, we help in developing local talents and contributing towards economic growth,” he said.

At present, Aboitiz Construction is engaged in six ongoing land development projects in LIMA and has recently been awarded another significant project for a Bulacan-based food company.

Since last year, Aboitiz Construction has been the contractor of LIMA Estate for its site development needs. It is also handling another project in the area which is the industrial expansion of the Estate’s 57-hectare lot at Block 9-2, also utilizing the Trimble technology.

LIMA Estate is an 800-hectare Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA)-registered economic zone in Batangas. At present, it has 150 locators, 167 retail stores and restaurants, a four-star hotel, a transportation hub, over 4,000 households, over 65,000 employees, and different developments  including BPOs, dormitories, schools, hospitals, churches, and other institutions.

It is part of the portfolio of Aboitiz InfraCapital Economic Estates.
