Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez led the fourth “Kasalang Bayan” (mass wedding) involving 94 couples at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City on Friday, Oct. 6.
The mayor who served as a marriage officiant said 45 couples from District 1 and 49 from District 2 joined in the mass wedding offered by the city government.
Olivarez told the couples to place God as the center of their love for each other, understand and respect each other to strengthen their relationship, and have quality time for each other and maintain loyalty.
He also prayed that the 94 couples who said “I do” would have happy marriages.
The mayor said the City Social Welfare and Development Department (CSWDD) led by Marilou Alpin also conducted marriage counseling for the 94 couples.
The mass wedding was made possible through the initiative of Glenda A. Tolentino of the Local Civil Registrar’s Office and Abdulmuin L. Alba from the Philippine Statistics Authority.
