US President Joe Biden recognized the rich heritage and traditions of Filipino-Americans in celebration of Filipino-American History Month in October.

On X (formerly Twitter), Biden likewise thanked the Filipino-American community for their contribution to ensuring that Washington “continues to be the land of opportunity”.

“Jill and I are thrilled to celebrate Filipino American History Month, honoring the rich heritage and traditions of millions of Filipino Americans,” the US President said.

“To our Filipino American community: Thank you for all you do to ensure our nation continues to be the land of opportunity,” he said.

The White House earlier paid tribute to the contributions of the community, saying Filipinos and Filipino-Americans “have helped forge the very idea of America.”

There are over four million Filipino-Americans in the United States, making it one of the largest Asian-American communities there, along with Chinese-Americans and Indian-Americans.
