MANILA, Philippines — As part of its efforts against child labor, the Caloocan City government provided livelihood packages to 33 families in the city.

The recipients received assistance from the city public employment service office on Friday.

Each family received bigasan packages consisting of two sacks of rice, weighing scales and bags for repacking.

Earlier, around 100 parents benefited from the local government’s initial livelihood distribution during the celebration of the World Day Against Child Labor last June 23.

Being a child-friendly city, Mayor Dale Gonzalo Malapitan vowed that his administration would be consistent in implementing programs against all forms of child abuse.
